Ventilation, Ducting, AOV and Fire Dampers
Ventilation
Ventilation and ducting systems are important components of any building’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. The ventilation system is responsible for providing fresh air to the building, while the ducting system distributes this air throughout the building. Ventilation systems typically consist of air intakes, exhausts, fans, dampers, filters and other components. Ducting systems include straight, round and flexible ducting, as well as dampers, valves and other components which are used to control the flow and distribution of air. Properly designed and installed ventilation and ducting systems ensure that the building is adequately ventilated and that the air is properly distributed throughout the building.
Gemini AMPM
Gemini AMPM has an expert team of qualified and accredited engineers able to advise and provide a full suite of ventilation and ducting services.
Ventilation And Ducting
Installing a ventilation and ducting system requires careful planning and attention to detail. It is important to select the right type of system for the building and to ensure that the ducts are properly sized, insulated, and sealed. The installation process will also involve connecting the ducts to the HVAC system and ensuring that the system is properly balanced
Gemini’s team of ventilation experts can advise on and design appropriate systems, they can then action a full installation package to meet the requirements of the building.
AOV
An automatic opening vent system uses vents to extract smoke and hot gases from a building in the event of a fire. This system is designed to provide additional protection to occupants beyond the use of fire alarms and sprinkler systems. The vents are opened automatically when a fire alarm is triggered, allowing smoke and hot gases to escape from the building and reducing the risk of a fire spreading.
Fire Dampers
Fire dampers are protection products that are used to contain smoke and fire from spreading through the ducts, plenums, and air transfer openings in a building. They are installed in the walls and ceilings, and when a fire is detected, the damper closes to prevent the spread of smoke and fire. Fire dampers are typically made from steel, and depending on the type selected, have a fire-resistance rating of several hours.
Gemini’s expert team is able to advise on the most appropriate type of damper and will design and install a suitable solution to meet the requirements of the building.
